There's always been something about Our Favorite Shop by the Style Council and I don't know why...The politics were pretty simple minded but what do you expect from a pop album. There's a couple stinkers on it. The sound completely dates as 80s in a blink of an eye. But I've always had a weak spot for this album even though I was never that big on the Jam, Paul Weller's solo stuff or even other Style Council albums for that matter. And everytime I hear Shout to the Top it makes me wish I could sing like Weller. Maybe it's because he always seemed to have good clothes and was a bit of a curmudgeon.

I've seen a lot of error messages over the years but I've never seen this one. Can't use this keyboard? But it's the standard Mac keyboard. How can I not use this keyboard on a Mac? Oh that's right it's because your program sucks.

This is something interesting I learned last week:

Any song by Poison is pretty interchangeable for sheer crappiness. But Unskinny Bop must rank among the worst songs ever written - Worse than We Built This City by Starship. ANd today for the full 4 hours of my bike ride, I had it playing in rotation in my head. It was pure joy

My battle with Revenue Canada continues...instead of a nice check back admitting they had fucked up, they send me back the entire reassessment with yet another form to fill out. Apparently after 10 years of my accountant doing my returns, they've decided that she doesn't have my consent, so now I have to resubmit with a piece of paper saying yes she can look at my taxes. Funny how they had no trouble cashing the checks i send them when she does my books. But any chance of giving money back and they find a way to stall. Fucking bastards. Maybe I'll be going on a trip on my birthday because it'll be the end of the year before I see any from them - IF I see any money from them.
